AC Transit Service Changes Take Effect March 28

City of Alameda Will Continue Efforts to Redevelop Alameda Point
PRESS RELEASE
February 5, 2010; On February 3, 2010, the voters of Alameda defeated Measure B, casting nearly 85% of their ballots against a SunCal proposed initiative for development of 918 acres at Alameda Point.
Since base closure in 1997, the City has been committed to redeveloping Alameda Point and implementing the necessary steps to facilitate prompt conveyance of the Naval base to the City. The City remains confident that numerous options - public, private and non-profit - remain available to the City in developing a physically viable and economically sustainable plan for base development.
Summer Job Opportunities With ARPD
Alameda Recreation and Park Department is currently accepting applications for summer jobs, including Recreation Leaders, Day Camp Leaders and Aquatics. These are part-time jobs, without benefits. Hours will vary from 20 to 30 hours per
week. Salaries start at $8.00 per hour.
Those who are positive, creative, able to lead activities and are energetic when engaging with children are highly encouraged to apply for summer positions. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age, able to demonstrate good judgment, able to relate well to children and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
City Car Share Program in Alameda
November 30, 2009; The City of Alameda has partnered with City CarShare, to establish a car-sharing site in Public Parking Lot C, on Central Avenue, across from the Alameda Historic Theater. For a fee the City CarShare program allows registered members to reserve a car, thus reducing the need for car ownership.
