    CLASS CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY:
  1. In the event a class is cancelled by the Alameda Recreation and Park Department, you will receive a full refund.
  2. Cancellations initiated by the client must be requested a minimum of five (5) business days prior to the start of the program. Refunds will no longer be issued. You will receive credit less a $15 administrative fee which will be applied to your ARPD Account to be used for any future ARPD class or program.

ROCK 'N ROLL ADVENTURE DAY
For Boys and Girls Currently In Kindergarten through 5th Grades

  • Cost: $40 per child – includes lunch, walking field trip and staff supervision

This is a STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY so there’s no Public School! Beat the boredom by spending your day off with your friends at ARPD. Drop off your child at Washington Elementary School, Room 9 anytime after 7:30 a.m. We’re going to have arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games (depending on the weather of course), drama and other fun stuff. After we eat our delicious lunch, we will explore our neighborhood by walking on a field trip so be sure you wear weather appropriate clothes and walking shoes. Make sure you pick up your child by 5:30 p.m.; otherwise there is a $1 per minute late fee payable that day for every minute you are late picking up your child.

    Parents, please note the following:
  • Children need to wear weather appropriate apparel and comfortable walking shoes. Be sure to bring a jacket.
  • Lunch and mid-morning and afternoon snacks will be provided.
  • Do not bring any electronic or sentimental items as ARPD Staff is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items.

SPRING VACATION CAMP
For Boys and Girls currently in Kindergarten through 5th Grades

It's Spring Break! Sign up for our week-long adventure camp filled with springtime fun and a basket full of surprises! New this year – we are going to have Spring Vacation Camp at two locations: HARRISON CENTER (Lincoln Park – Santa Clara Avenue & High Street) and WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (825 Taylor Avenue, Room 9). We need to have a minimum of 15 participants registered in order to hold Spring Vacation Camp at Washington Elementary School. Activities at both sites include arts and crafts, cooking, games, drama, music and a special trip to Circuits (lunch included with trip).

PLEASE BRING A BAG LUNCH AND WEAR PLAY CLOTHES. As always, please do not bring any electronic or sentimental items to Camp. PARENTS: PLEASE PICK UP YOUR CHILD ON TIME. A late fee of $1 per minute for every minute you are late will be charged for late pickups, payable that day.

2009 SCHOOL YEAR PARKS & PLAYGROUND PROGRAM

A FREE DROP-IN PROGRAM for all school-age children of Alameda is available after school starting MONDAY, AUGUST 31 to FRIDAY, JUNE 11, 2010 at 10 park sites throughout Alameda (see below). Each site will open from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. In addition, Franklin, Lincoln and Washington Parks will be open for general supervision and play on Saturdays from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.

Recreation Leaders will provide a variety of recreational activities for children in Kindergarten through 5th Grades. These programs are a perfect opportunity for your child to participate in fun, safe and cooperative activities where your child can be creative, develop skills and make friends in an outdoor setting. Activities will include but are not limited to: arts and crafts, cooking, drama, games, nature and special events (a nominal fee may be charged). This program is FREE and there is no obligation to attend every day. This is not a childcare service! Parents may leave their child alone at the park at their own risk.

Recreation Leaders are not responsible to watch your child specifically, but are required to promote an environment where youth can play, explore, make new friends and above all, have fun! For a more structural program, see our Recreation Afterschool Program (RAP).

NO PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. For the safety of the youth participants, parents/guardians should fill out an emergency contact form to be held on file in case of an emergency. See your Recreation Leader for more information.

2009-2010 RECREATION AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM (RAP)
For Boys and Girls Currently In 1st through 5th Grades during the 2009-2010 School Year

ATTENTION ALL RETURNING RAP PARENTS:
THE SECOND INSTALLMENT OF THE WINTER SESSION DUE ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2010
ALL PAYMENTS RECEIVED AFTER DUE DATE WILL BE ASSESSED AN AUTOMATIC $30 LATE FEE.
The Alameda Recreation and Park Department is pleased to announce a new Recreation Afterschool Program for children who attend Washington Elementary School (WE-RAP). Click on the links below for program description, fees and registration form.

RAP is a supervised after school recreation program for boys and girls in the 1st through 5th grades at the following schools:
Bay Farm, Earhart, Edison, Franklin, Lum, NEA, Otis, Paden and Ruby Bridges. There is a new program for those who attend Washington Elementary School (see above for more information). IMPORTANT: A minimum of 10 students must be registered at a school in order to be a RAP Pick-Up Site

A few reminders:

Payments
If you choose to pay by sessions or installments, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make all payments by the due dates. All fees must be paid 48 hours in advance before your child will be picked up for RAP. Please note the session starting and ending dates.

  • DO I NEED TO FILL OUT THE FORM FOR EVERY SESSION?
    NO, once your registration form is on file in the main office, you may call (510) 747-7529 throughout the school year and make your payment using Visa or MasterCard.

  • DOES ARPD SEND INVOICES OR OTHER PAYMENT REMINDERS?
    NO, all deadlines are listed in Parent Handbook, RAP flier, and on ARPD website. Please note all deadline dates, as there is an automatic $30 late charge.

There is no RAP on school holidays or non-school days. There are no refunds, credits or make-ups for days missed. For those participants on the two or three day RAP plan, you may not switch pick up days from week to week. To change pick up dates during the session, there is a $15 service fee (see parent handbook below).

Absences
Please notify ARPD at (510) 747-7529 by 12:00 noon if your child will not attend RAP.

Extra Days
For those who are attending RAP either 2 or 3 days, you may add an additional pick up day(s)(outside of your regular days) for a fee of $15 per child per day which must be paid in full with 48 hours advance notice. You cannot swap your days.

Late Pick Ups
All participants must be picked up/signed out by 5:30 p.m. Starting at 5:31 p.m., a late fee of $1 per minute will be charged for late pick-ups payable that day.

Receipts
You will be issued a receipt upon registration. Save your receipts! There is a $5 reprint service charge for each receipt.

Registration Information

RAP registration for the 2009-2010 school year for new and returning students is underway! No spots will be held without payment. No priority for returning students!
