Video Editing Training
|
Students will learn how to create digital movies, use video effects, insert pictures and audio, upload to online hosts, make titles and credits, capture video from cameras and much more.

Beginning Computers
|
The class will teach about computing, software, hardware, file managment and printing. The class will also teach word processing, email and internet skills.
|
Computers for Seniors
|
While all are welcome, this class is paced for seniors. The class will introduce the beginner to the keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer, and external drives. Some internal components and system software will be discussed. Students will learn how to enter and exit an application, how menus, icons, and toolbars work.
The class will also show students how to access the internet, use Microsoft® Word and use email to send messages.

Creating databases with Microsoft® Access
|
The class will teach what Microsoft Access is and how to create a database, including what it databases are used for, how to enter and manipulate data in tables, relationships between databases, how to locate records, table properties, and much more.

Creating tables using Microsoft® Word
|
|
The class will teach what tables are, how to create a table, how to insert and delete rows and columns, how to format tables, how to insert Excel cells into tables, how to use calculations in cells, how to change text direction and alignment, how to format borders, shading and cell contents, how to convert tables to text, cell merging, and more.

Desktop publishing with Microsoft® Publisher
|
|
The class will teach what Microsoft Publisher is and how to layout and print various items such as brochures, greeting cards and newsletters. Various fundamentals of desktop publishing will be discussed such as graphics and ways to include them, templates, wizards, file saving, and printing.

Email Training
|
The class will teach the students how to create a personal web-based email account, compose an email, send and receive email, and how to attach photos and files to email. Students will also learn how to create groups and mass mail.

Introduction to Computers
|
The class will introduce the beginner to the keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer, and external drives. Some internal components and system software will be discussed. Students will learn how to enter and exit an application, how menus, icons, and toolbars work, as well as file managing methods and strategies. Students will be introduced to Microsoft® Office applications, their advantages, and how to access them. This class is geared towards seniors but all are welcome.

Introduction to HTML
|
This class teaches the basics of HTML tags how to use them in HTML pages. We will cover creating web pages using only a text editor. Students must already be comfortable navigating the directory structure (folders) on the computer and should be able to edit text files. We will go from the begining to creating linked web pages into a small site. We will not be covering web development applications such as DreamWeaver or FrontPage.

Introduction to Photo Elements
|
|
The class will teach students how to improve lighting, correct color, add text, cropping, straightening images, removing redeye and also removing anything unwanted in the photo.

Mac User’s Group
|
|
Ongoing! Meetings are held every Friday of the month on a walk-in basis unless otherwise stated.
Suitable for both beginning and experienced Macintosh users, the group will familiarize users with the graphical interface, the desktop, the dock and stacks, icons, documents and folders, menu bars, windows, and using the OS X 10.4 Tiger.
The continuing sessions will include in-depth fundamentals such as multi-user/multi-tasking, dashboards and widgets, system preferences, address book, mail and text editors. System applications such as iChat, Front Row, iCal, Time Machine, Safari and iSync will be discussed as well as iLife applications such as iTunes, iPods, Apple TV, iPhoto, iMovie and more.

Mail Merge Training
|
The class will focus on creating saving time by producing mass mailing labels, envelopes, postcards and more using Microsoft Word 2003.

Presentations with Microsoft® PowerPoint
|
The class will teach students how to create slide presentations with formatted text, images, video, audio, animation, charts and links to the Web. You will also learn how to save your presentations in HTML format so they can be shared with others over the Web.

Using Windows XP
|
|
The class will discuss keyboard shortcuts, power management, display settings, desktop settings and clean-up, updating windows, music and audio. The class will also demonstrate tips and tricks such as on screen keyboard, XP animations, running older programs, the difference between home and professional editions and more.

YouTube Video Broadcast Training
|
The class will introduce Youtube as the online video host and help the students create Youtube accounts. Students will learn how to edit and upload their video, how to search and find videos, how to share videos with others, how to join groups and subscribe to channels.
