The Public Works Department will hold a third Public Meeting regarding traffic calming on Fernside Boulevard between Encinal Avenue and High Street.

The public meeting will be held on August 6, 2008, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Multi-Use Room of Edison Elementary School located at 2700 Buena Vista Avenue.

During the second meeting, residents reviewed six proposed alternatives and voted to select three alternatives. The three alternatives share similar characteristics, which include the narrowing of vehicular travel way using either a two-way left turn lane or a median (raised or painted), and bulbouts at intersections.

This upcoming Third Public Meeting will allow residents to choose and refine a preferred plan. Funding concerns for the traffic calming project will also be addressed.
